Common Layer Interface (CLI) does not correctly implement model references/ids

When selecting multiple sliced and hatched models to export a CLI file, Netfabb does not correctly represents them in the exported file.

Based on the CLI description (https://www.hmilch.net/downloads/cli_format.html#:~:text=Introduction,layer%20manufacturing%20techno...), multiple models can be included in one file where all hatches and polylines refer to a specific model id.

Netfabb combines multiple models (hatches/polylines) into 1 model, losing model references.

(a possible workaround is exporting all models into individual files, and use some scripting to merge them with the inclusion of the correct model ids).

Can this be fixed?

Hi Sam,

thank you for the feedback. As there are multiple ways of exporting CLIs from Fusion, it would be great to understand more clearly what you are seeing. Can you post some screenshots or example files?

Best regards and thank you,

Alex

In Netfabb, I select multiple sliced and hatched models, and export them them by clicking on the 'Export' icon in the ribbon.

In the setting for 'Export Slices', I select 'Common Layer Interface (CLI)' as the export format and 'export into one file' as the Export Type.

After generation, I open the CLI file with notepad++, here you can see only one label/part id.

I attached a screenshot of the 'process'

(don't mind the file name, while it only has the 'cartoon car' in its name, the information of both parts is in the cli file, but combined in 1 part)
