Extract data from XREF in external exe without opening AutoCAD

Hello,

I am developing an external application which can generate BOM from XREF list. I want this to be completely standalone application thus not opening AutoCAD instance or connecting to active AutoCAD instance. Is this possible  in .NET or objectARX or any other way?

Yes with RealDWG.

Are there any alternatives to RealDWG because AutoCAD is installed on the computer, however I prefer that user not interacting with drawing.
