unselect objects that are be edited with grips

Does anybody know how to unselect objects that are be edited with grips?  I tried this one from a different post, but did not work for me.  Any Idea's.

Dim ed As Editor = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Editor
                    Dim Opts As New PromptSelectionOptions()
                    Dim res As PromptSelectionResult = ed.SelectImplied

                    res = Nothing

Thanks, I didn't see that post.  But I had to do it like this to work:

Dim ed AsEditor = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Editor

'ed.SetImpliedSelection(Nothing)

Dim SS As Autodesk.AutoCAD.EditorInput.SelectionSet = Nothing

ed.SetImpliedSelection(SS)
