Revit filters maintained in navisworks

I'm using Revit 2108 with the fabrication add on. I've fully drawn the ductwork systems but lose all the filters I set up once it's exported from a 3d view into Navisworks. I have the templates set up so the filter colors are maintained in whatever view I'm in for Revit. Anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

Jeff

I believe, you can try exporting to DWF format. Then whatever filters you added on Revit will be preserved while on Navis.

This did not work. I must be doing something wrong. I've also tried creating a 3d template and using the add-ins tab to navigate to Navisworks 2017 export. Another contractor told me this worked for him, but it didn't for me. Any suggestions?

thanks,

Unfortunately the colors assigned by filters do not export to navis, you need to apply the color to the material as that will be exported.  As for the fabrication add on you can change color of the material of the fabrication part and that color will export but you can only apply one color to all of the parts, it cannot be broken down per system.

One method to maintain your color structure between Revit and Navisworks is to use the appearance profilier in Navisworks. Using Search Sets, you can control colors.

It is a duplication of work, since you already did the work in Revit, but it will work. You can also save the appearance profilier so it can be used on multiple projects. Just use search sets and not selection sets. Search Sets will update automatically, selection sets are static and don't change.
