When you imported the catalog again, did you see a dialog like this (when I opened the sample Quantification NWF exported and then imported the Catalog I am seeing this dialog):

Import Catalog.png

And if so which option did you select?

Hi Mr. Coffey,

Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunatelly, our Navisworks doesn't have this behavior. It occurs in all computers!! Maybe there's a problem with the Navis file.

If possible, could you try to import our catalog in your Navis?:

Itm Catalog.PNGStructure triplicated after two importings.

Cordially,

Hello Mr. Santos.

I am able to reproduce what you are seeing.

I found that the catalog which is being imported into Navisworks varies significantly from what you see when you export the catalog (I think that in my initial testing I was importing a catalog that was structured in the same way as Navisworks exports it).

It looks like the catalog you are importing is being interpreted by Navisworks, and this interpretation prevents it from being seen as the same as the existing catalog within Navisworks.

Try going through the following steps:
1.    Import the Template quantitativos-29NOV2016.xml into a new Navisworks file.
2.    Export the catalog to XML.
3.    Now, reimport the XML from step 2, and you should find that you get the warning I described earlier, and items are not duplicated (Regardless of the option you select).
4.    Now try importing the new XML file into a separate Navisworks file, and re-import.

If this works for you, can you move forward with using the exported XML file (from step 2 above) instead of the original one?

I have the same problem.

I had import Catalog that make by "AutodeskNavisworksQuantificationCatalogCreationTemplate2014-2015", I will call that file is Catalog V.1; structure like picture no. a1.

When I export Catalog from Naviworks, I will call that file is Catalog V.2, structure like picture no. a2.

When I copy the content in Catalog V.1 and paste to Catalog V2, after that i Import again to Naviswork, I don't see the dialog like you had share.

The Catalog like picture no. a3.

I don't know what I do Wrong?

Thanks.

Copying and pasting the entire V1 catalog into the V2 file would be equivalent to just using the V1 file.

Instead, use the V2 file, and make changes, as needed, without pasting entire portions of code (from the original file).

Using a text editor designed for XML files may help in seeing / maintaining the needed structure.
