Hello,

Today we have released update 2  for Navisworks 2025. This update has been focused on fixing the most common issues found in Navisworks 2025 and 2025 update 1. This release was planned and monitored for all incoming issues ensuring Navisworks 2025 is as stable as possible. This was a smaller targeted release ensuring we are confident with the stability of the product for our users.

Stability and Defects

IFC files

  • Resolved an issue where IFC files would not load or load incorrectly. This was affecting IFC files loaded into Navisworks 2025 update 1.

SKP files

  • Resolved an issue where certain .skp files did not load.

DWG files

  • Resolved an issue when loading DWG files with missing xrefs and object enablers installed.

Development focus

As the Product Manager for Navisworks I, and all the team are committed to improving the product in all aspects. We begin looking to the future and specifically Navisworks 2026 and the exciting updates and improvements we have planned. We will continue to monitored previous supported versions and provide updates when required.

We'd love to hear from you, please feel free to reach out to me directly or via account teams.

Regards

Great to hear Navisworks got some update.

However switching to a new version is always a hard decision when using Plugins since these requires to be recompiled/modified/tested/distributed and thus requires a company-wide decision.

So at least please ensure links to install/reinstall past version as far back as possible are still available.

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. We understand how difficult it can be with all the connected parts of an install. We keep the current and last 3 years version of the product available via the Autodesk products page. If you require older than that you will need to log a support ticket who should be able to provide access.

Is this update available for Freedom, too? The official download page only has update 1 available.

We are working to make this available on the downloads page ASAP. If this is installed and you have the Autodesk Access app on your PC you should see the update available for Freedom already. Taking a little longer with publishing to the site.

"If this is installed and you have the Autodesk Access app on your PC you should see the update available for Freedom already." ... indeed, employees with Freedom 2025.1 seeing it in Autodesk Access app, but they are not allowed to install software where elevated rights are needed. Means, I need the package to prepare to our deployment solution šŸ˜‰

As it seems, Autodesk has the pack available ... how hard is it to put it on publish site?

Sorry, this should have been deployed within a week or so of my comment. I had not realised it had not gone to the downloads site. I have chased this for deployment.

Sorry for the delay.

I have confirmed with the development team that there was nothing in 2025.2 that affected Freedom and thus updating does not change anything for Freedom. Update 1 can stay until a future update, rather than update or waiting for the download.

Got it ...  it still confuses users when Autodesk Access is telling them there is an update for Navisworks Freedom.

Agreed, I have this clarified as a deployment mistake, we will be more selective in future to ensure there isn't any confusion.

Hello @brett_parkerLUEP7, the "internal Navisworks GUID" that Quantification tool uses, is missing when importing IFC in v4 method. We get an error of invalid GUID. Please, could you fix this problem with Ifc files? Thanks.

same issue here...is there any solution? v4 has great translation of IFC color and model structure, more accurate, love it...just missing GUID, unfortunately this become big problem because we cannot use it for Quantification...meanwhile V3 not good enough translate multiple color for single IFC element, but still get GUID...i wonder there is V5 solve everything...

Hello,

This issue is now resolved in the latest version of Navisworks (Update 3). This wasn't a translator issue (v3 or v4) but rather a bug that was preventing them in this version. Now resolved.

Hi Brett,
thanks for your quick response,
we have tried Naviswork update3, unfortunately the issue still persists, to make the comparison clearer, we tried to create a simple model like this:
figure 1 (Original model view in Authoring soft)

figure 2 (Naviswork 2025, ifc translator v3, model reading)

here we also include the .ifc file, maybe it can be evaluated.
thanks

Hi Brett, thanks for information...
quick report:
we use patch provided by Shayne, and tested it, unfortunately, we still got the problem with missing GUID,
-multiple color surface for single IFC object = working great
-structure .ifc model = working great
-property set structure = minus missing GUID
we hope this become  priority target list in next update...

thanks,
regards,

Thanks for the input and testing. Can you confirm you can see the IFCGUID in the element tab? This replaces the existing Navisworks GUID as this is now the new translator.

We still can't find the IFC GUID in the "item" Properties Tab (v4 translator)...
it makes the Quantify tool not working for all elements,

even for simple single elements (wall without composite)

This wont appear in the items tab but rather the Element tab;
