Opening Revit .RVT files

This page says that Navisworks Freedom 2022 will open revit files but I can't get it to.

https://help.autodesk.com/view/NAV/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-38E592D6-4EE1-462F-BC80-68890AA2597E

The file open dialog only show recap and DWF files.

Likewise the settings for "file readers" only shows these 2 options.

I do not have Revit, this is to view a revit model.

The online viewer will not open it (after several minutes of importing and processing it throws an error)

Thanks

Roger

What are you trying to accomplish?

If you want to open the Revit model just to view it, you have a couple of free options from Autodesk.

The first and easiest is using their viewer. https://viewer.autodesk.com/.

The second is using Revit. You can install Revit and use it without a license. That is the viewer mode. You will not be able to save or export anything (except exporting to Assemble), but you can view the model.

If you need to use the model in Navisworks, as the author of the model to create an NWC or DWF file that you can import.

As I said - the viewer doesn't work on the files I have.
An install of Revit is something I've asked the IT department for but not sure what their response will be.

Who are you getting the file from?

What software do you have installed?

Can the architect not convert the file for you?

then you need to work with the Architect & get the correct file format for you to use

or get Revit installed on your computer or have someone else convert the file for you
