Navisworks Vs Revit GUID

Hi All,

I am using Revit model to extract Cobie spreadsheet. The GUID its generating in COBie spread sheet from Revit model is different from the Naviswork model which got exported from same revit Model. I have seen many forum saying it can be done and it cannot be done.

So Can any one help me in getting this issue short it out.

If you are looking at the ITEM tab for the elements in Navisworks, the GUID there is the Navisworks GUID. That is not the Revit GUID so they will never match.

You will need to populate a Revit parameter with the Revit GUID and then that data will be exposed in Navisworks. If you are using the COBie Extension, there is a technique for doing that. Reply here if that is the case and I can work up the details.

You say "export" - you might want to check for differences between exporting an NWC from Revit, and reading the model natively.
