Navisworks Manage Crashed during Install, Can't uninstall to reinstall

Hey Guys

So I was installing Navisworks Manage 2015 and it crashed about halfway through. So my computer thinks its installed but when I go to run it I get error after error. When I go to uninstall it i get " Cannot find a language pack to use. Please re-install or repair a language pack."

Any Ideas?

Hi there,

As a start point you could try to install the English language pack.  Go to to the source media, browse down to x64\en-US\NAVMAN and double click on NAVMAN_LP.msi.  Once you have the language pack installed, you should be able to get back to a clean state by uninstalling Manage and re-installing -- hopefully it won't crash on install this time.

Cheers

Source media is a download that was only 50% done when it crashed.  so when I go to "C:\Autodesk\Navisworks_Manage_2015_R2_wi_en-Us\en-Us" there is no NAVMAN_LP.msi unfortunately. For download options all there is for options was "Install Now"

There should be a DLM (Download Manager) version that will contain the whole installer.  However, I can't find any publicly available links to that or even the English Language Pack.

The alternative approach is to do something more drastic: try to crowbar Manage off and start again.  From a command prompt run the following command:

msiexec /x {813D2B53-2300-0000-866C-59F9BC27A235} /qb

IMPORTANT CAVEAT FOR THE CASUAL OBSERVER: Do not uninstall Manage this way unless you cannot get it off using Add/Remove Programs and you cannot install a LP to enable the ARP uninstall.

Hope you can install again after running that command.

Cheers

Andy

Still no good. I think I'll need to format which I was hoping to avoid.

If the uninstall command didn't work that suggests that you may be able to try the Web Install again.  Does that work?

I think from playing around trying to reproduce your situation, that you do have part of the Manage installation installed.  Try this command which will attempt to repair that part:

msiexec /fvomus {813D2B53-2300-0000-866C-59F9BC27A235}

It may require access to source media, which because you are using the WI image you may not have.  If you can get the repair to complete successfully you should be able to run the uninstall command I suggested in earlier messages.

If this doesn't work then, for the first time ever, I'm going to recommend you try "Microsoft Fix It" https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Important caveat for the casual observer: Do not use Microsoft Fix It on Navisworks installs unless you cannot repair, uninstall or re-install -- Fix It does not understand anything specific to Navisworks and using it to uninstall is likely to leave a great deal of stuff lying around, which may well interfere with future Navisworks installs.

Hope one of these suggested paths is the answer.

Cheers

The command just poped up a installer box then did nothing.

Microsoft Fix it worked though!!!

Thanks again!
