Navisworks Manage 2019 clipping box issue

I'm having a issue when using clipping box over point cloud data in Navisworks Manage 2019, more precisely my point cloud data is not cut exactly by clipping box edges some points still visible outside it. Please check pictures. I want to mention that I have this problem only on my workstation equipped with AMD GPU, the other one with Nvidia GPU is working well . Any advice how to fix this?

Hello @Anonymous, try this setting.

  1. Update to the latest video driver here.
  2. Right-click the desktop and choose "Configure Switchable Graphics." If this is not available, try choosing "Catalyst Control Panel" and then click the "Power" tab on the left and then "Switchable Graphics."
  3. If Navisworks is in the list, select the "High Performance" option for it. If it is not in the list, use the Browse button to manually select the Autodesk Navisworks file.
  4. Click Apply.

Let me know if this works for you.

Dear Eric

I have the latest video driver installed, and my laptop have only 1 GPU so "Switchable Graphics" option is not available.

Thank you for the information. Can you check if your Hardware Acceleration for Navisworks is checked?

  • In Navisworks
  • Click the Logo on the top left
  • options
  • Interface
  • Click Display
  • Graphics System
  • Check Hardware Acceleration

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Yes with hardware acceleration enabled i have this issue. Without hardware acceleration clipping box is working ok, but any pan / zoom is very very slow due to heavy point cloud size and working like that is impossible.

Does your computer allow you to right click and go into your graphics card settings? Can you see if this option is similar to what you can try?
