Navisworks Manage 2017 crashes when scaling PDF

Hi, I have an issue with the new Navisworks Manage 2017 version. When I append a PDF file and try to set scale by measurement the application crashes. (As soon as I finish tracing the measurement line.)

Please provide a hotfix/solution.

PS: Worked on the same PDFs with version 2016.

Bump:

Did anyone reproduce the issue so I know it's not just my PC? Thanks

Any news on when this will be fixed? Navisworks isn't a 200$ software and some of us rely heavily on 2D quantities take-offs.

Same Issue. This needs to get fixed or Navisworks is useless for 2D takeoff.

The solution is never to upgrade until the release of the first service pack.

i'm having the same issue, the bigger problem is that my trial expired. i tried to test the 2D QTO ability of Navisworks and couldn't even do that...

Thank you for your Forum posts,

I am sorry you all encounter this CER error in Navisworks 2017.

This issue has been reported to our development team and it has already been fixed. Please see this Article.

The fix is scheduled to be included in the first Service Pack, which will soon be released.

I could not tell you a date when the Service Pack will be available because it has not been set yet. Our team is still wrapping things up.

In the meantime, the only way to avoid the crash on this functionality, would be to use the 2016 version of the product.

I understand your frustration and how badly this is affecting your work, but it won't be long now.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our engineers get the Service Pack ready for release.

Best Regards,

Sinziana Panaitescu

PDF scale measurements now function correctly in NW 2017 Update 1.

Thanks,

It's great to hear that the issue is fixed in Update 1, but sad to see that I still didn't get the update and can't find it on the Autodesk website.

I have good news on this topic!

The Service Pack 1 is now live! It is named Navisworks Manage 2017.1 Update and it is available to all users under Subscription. See Readme file Here.

You can find it under your Autodesk Account > Management > Product Updates > Navisworks.

I hope this helps you all get back on track with your work.

Regards,

Is it possible to just assign the scale?  I'm confident in the scale, but it only prompts me for "Set Scale by Measurement" via "New Measure"

Also I don't seem to be able to snap to a PDF w/ vector points.

I agree, this should be a feature, but as far as I know, it doesn't work that way (yet).
