After creating a home view with the view cube tool and setting it to be current, the session is saved then closed. Upon reopening the file, the view always reverts to something other than the saved home view which was current when the model was saved and closed. This is quite frustrating as it does not happen consistently. Very hard to resolve without repeatable results. Any ideas?

Just the Basic idea's:
Are you sure that you are working with the same file ?
Use a Save As with an other filename, in the same folder.
If the file exists, then you are sure that you can save in that folder and that no-one else has the file open also and saves later.
Which file are we talking about? an NWF or an NWD ?
Thank you for replying. Yes indeed I am working on/opening the same file, there is only one. Also I am 100% certain I am the only person using this file. The date and time stamp prove it. This happens in an NWD and NWF both. Saving as different file name technique still opens with a non-home non-saved view. Very strange. I have experienced this several times with different files on different projects.
Thank you for your post in the forum community. It looks like you are seeing some inconsistencies in the project file view orientation (both the host = nwf, and compiled = nwd). I have seen similar behavior before with corrupt NWF files, which would then filter to nwd files that are cut from the same project host. To help overcome this, typically a NWF rebuild can help overcome this issue. Where you have confirmed this is file specific, this would reinforce the potential issues and potential culprit. To best overcome this, please teste a new NWF, append your models and test to compare overall results. Does this view stick?
If the view still does not stick, please reply back with sample copies of these files to replicate and build to then compare overall results. Please keep us posted and let us know if there are any questions. Thank you again and we look forward to your reply.
I did in fact completely rebuild the nwf file today. Fortunately the project is relatively small and the task only took an hour or so. The home view and saving seem to be behaving normally again. My only remaining question is why does this happen and how to prevent it? This problem has surfaced more than a few times for me in the recent past. Some projects are quite large and rebuilding them is a huge task. Thank you all for the replies.
