Navisworks + Coordination Add In

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions on a navisworks workflow.

Currently, we prepare the federated model in Revit and export each view as a NWC to ACC, to a Model Coordination enabled folder. Then, we open these files in Navisworks (Coordination > Open) and save it in NWF and review the models. The issues identified are created using the Coordination add-in and published on ACC. We reload and re-export the files once new models are available.

1- Does this make sense? I prefer to create the model in Revit to have control over what's exported to navisworks and to ensure the models are aligned.

2- Is it possible for two users to work on the same NWF file? Our experience has been not really good, as the issues are pushed to ACC correctly, but viewpoints, new rules are all not saved for all users.

3- Any tips to create the clear issues snapshots? The best way to allow people to locate issues is having the gridlines turned on?

Hi, why export the Revit files to NWC?  Model Coordination can see the RVT models as long as they are in an MC enabled folder and are published by your users.

Once in ACC, use Views and not NWFs to have a common federated model.  Any number of users can open the same view at the same time.

@shaun.r.clough We also have problem with saved views and search sets and we work only with Views created in Model Coordination.
e.g.:
1.user A creates search set and saves the changes.
2. User B clicks "Save" and agrees to merge the changes to the newest file.
3. User B can see new search sets, but they don't work. Nothing is selected.

The same issue is with viewpoints. User B can only see a name of the viewpoint, but the views are not modified properly (like in User's A screen).

Is it possible for multiple users to work in Navisworks on one file and sync changes, just like it works in Revit?

ACC saves Navisworks model views as hidden NWFs, for a public (everyone can see) view only admins can make/sync those changes.  What version of Navisworks are you users on?  I suggest 2024 as a minimum.

PS Installing the newest Issue Addin helped 😉
It still doesn't work so smooth like collaboration in Revit, but it's still something.
