Naviswork how to rotate object like in AutoCad

I have a point cloud which I append to Navis, this point cloud is used in Autocad PLant 3D project and it has a rotaton inside Plant 3D, I need to replicate that rotation in Navis as well. Namely the rotation is as follows: 0.9 degrees on Z axis, 1 on Y, 0.5 on X. But the Navisworks rotation tool is strange and complicated, how to use it?

Navisworks transform tools work very differently from AutoCAD. I think the issue you are having is with the origin point for your rotation.

To specify the pivot point you have the following ways :

  • Default pivot point:  When you first open your model, the target point of the current view will be your pivot for orbiting
  • Selected objects: When you select an object the pivot point is calculated based on the center of extents of the selected object
  • Center tool:  This allow you to use the steering wheel to specify your pivot point from the center tool
  • CTRL Key: Hold down CTRL then click and drag to the point you wanna be your pivot. Note that this functions when you are using big and mini full navigation wheels or mini-view object wheel
