Moving takeoff quantities between items

Hello,
I'm working with quantification in Navisworks 2017. As with any model, I've got columns, walls, beams, and all sorts of stuff combined into a small space. And each element has its specific formulas for takeoff (I'm doing wall and floor treatments).
What I've been doing so far, so I don't have to select each item individually is to use a select box, select everything and takeoff to an "Incoming" item. Then within that item I sort by element name, and send each item type to where it belongs on my workbook. For example I select all the wall elements, and transfer them from the "incoming" item to the walls item.
The question I have is related to that transfer process. What I'm doing at the present is I go into Incoming, select my items, then right click and do a select takeoff in model. Then I right click my walls item, and takeoff to that item from selected. And then I have to go back into Incoming and delete the items I transferred.
Is there an easier way to do this? I've looked for some kind of a "move takeoff" command or something like that, but so far, I haven't been able to find it.
