IFC File Reader v4 issue

Hello,

I am using NW25, and the v4 IFC file reader (default) has been working with no issues for a while. Recently it has started taking unreasonably long when reading an IFC file, to the point where it seems like NW has frozen completely, leaving it useless. This started happening a week ago or so. When I switch back to another version of the IFC file readers it takes a normal amount of time, but there are other issues with older file readers and newer IFC exports. Does anyone know what might be the issue with the v4 IFC file reader and how to fix it?

Hi Emil, is this happening after installing Update 3? we are experiencing similar issues here.

Hi Emil, I got the same issue when installing Update 3 of Navisworks 2025. Update 2 worked fine this morning.
Update 3 also renames Properties in User defined property sets to "parameters.ifc.customized:<Something>"  instead of their real name.

Definitely a problem, was reported yesterday and fix will be in the next update.  I cannot say when that will be.

In the mean time, I have thrown together a quick fix that is attached.  Please note it is unofficial, unsupported, and a bit unconventional, so use it at your own risk.

Happy to answer any questions regarding this fix as well.

To use, simply extract and run the exe from the zip, specify your install folder if different than the default, and extract.
