How to "constrain" appended models in Naviswork

Hello,

I am new to Naviswork Manage. I do have a 3D model of an oil- and gas rig, and I am currently working on a modification in Inventor. I have made an assembly that i want to put in Naviswork, at the correct place.

First off all, when i append the model from Inventor, it appears far out of the actual rig - is there any reason for this? I find it very hard to get the appended model correctly orientated (rotation, movement etc). There should have been some "constraints" options for easily attaching models.

Can anyone help me out?

Hello,

Both distance and angle. The appended model from Inventor appears far away form the actual location, and has no "normal orientation".

Have you tried to right-click the appended model in the selection tree and match its Units and Transform... values with the original model?

No i have nor, what do you mean «match units»?. Should i merge or append the inventor model to Naviswork?

You should Append your model in Navisworks and if location is different, Right-click the appended model in the Selection tree and pick Units and Transform... and match the Origin and Rotation values between the two models.
