Frame Rate Problem?

Hi-

I have been rendering presenter quality animations in Navisworks (720x1280 @ 24fps). For the most part, these animations look great; however, some of the animations appear "wavy" (I'm not sure how else to describe it). I've attached a sample clip. I am unsure if this is a frame rate problem or some other issue. I think it is related to the frame rate as it seems to get worse the faster the camera moves. Any advice on how to deal with this problem? If it is the frame rate, any suggestions for what frame rate might be required? (Keeping in mind that 1 minute of this movie is already maxing out the file size, so the least possible frame rate would be best so I don't have to break up the files further).

Thanks!

Kaitlyn

It looks like it some kind of reflection thing. Maybe if you add more lights, change the background, change some colours of the building or rotate the camera view in another manner, it will be less visible...

This looks like it may be due to a lack of Anti-aliasing, so rather than a diagonal line, on screen due to the pixels this looks like a stepped straight line, so the next frame makes it look like the steps have moved slightly across.

If this is an OpenGL animation (no textures are applied so I assume so), then to counter this, when exporting the animation, simply switch on Anti-Aliasing in the Export Animation dialogue, the higher the rate, the longer it takes but results are obvious.

See the difference between the two small rendered images below.

Thanks! This is actually a presenter animation, so there is no option for anti-aliasing. Is there a way to fix this when rendering a presenter animation?

Thanks,

Kaitlyn
