Exporting nwc from Revit 2017 to Navisworks 2018

This page seems to say that Navisworks 2018 files (nwf, nwc and nwd) are backward compatible with Navisworks 2017 and 2016.

Is this true?

Secondly, Navisworks 2018 Exporters apparently are not compatible with 2017 or 2016 Revit - and with DPR Model Slicer which is compatible with 2017 and 2016. Can you confirm this?

I found that I needed to install the Navsworks Exporters for 2017 in order to work with Revit 2017.

Thoughts?

As far as my knowledge is, the 1st statement is true.

Navisworks 2018, 2017 and 2016 all create NWD and NWF files in "Navisworks 2016 format"

so there is no problem of opening them between those versions.

In Simulate 2018, for example, the Save As dialog states the following possibilities:

Navisworks 2016-2018 NWD

Navisworks 2015 NWD

Navisworks 2016-2018 NWF

Navisworks 2015 NWF

(In my opinion this should not be called "backwards compatibility nor forward compatibility)
