Export Saved Viewpoints

I would like to export only new viewpoints to share with my team. Is it possible to choose only certain viewpoints to export? Would editing the XML file be a potential solution?

I hope there is a solution and that I'm just not searching with the proper terms.

Thank you for your help.

Hey,

There isn't currently any way that I know of to selectively export specific viewpoints. You could try to export all of them to XML, then remove the ones you don't want from the XML file, and then manually convert that into a HTML report using the same XSLT stylesheet that Navisworks uses.

Hope this helps,

The Simplest workaround is to open (a copy of) your NWF.

Delete all Viewpoints that you do NOT want to export.

Then Export the viewpoints

Then exit Navisworks and do NOT save the changes in your NWF.

Editing an viewpoints XML with something like NotePad++ is also possible, but if you mess up the syntax, the file cannot be imported anymore.

You can manage the Viewpoints with Folders, organized by dates and export the Viewpoint Folders out. I did this before during coordination meeting and it worked just fine.

sadly, this 'workaround' is still the only way to export only a selected set of viewpoints.  I have about 15 + folders from different coordination meetings in a typical model with 20-30 viewpoints in each.

having to delete everything except the views to be exported is a stupid process that Autodesk should have addressed by now.
