The date of an appended file doesn't appear in Properties.

Is it at all possible to find the date of a file from within Navisworks Manage?

the closest you can get is to use the batch utility to generate a list of appended files. I do not know if that includes a date.
Search the help for
"To Generate a List of All Design Files Used in the Current Model"
to get a step by step manual.

if you append a "published" nwd file the nwd file will have a property tab called publish where you will find a timestamp from when the file was published. If you set and expiry date on the nwd file you will also see the expiry date.

If you do not produce published nwd files you might be able to see timestamps depending on what file type you append. If you append an Aveva rvm file you will be able to see a timestamp for when the rvm file was produced.

hi,

nwc files made by opening rvm files will have the same "PDMS File Comments" tab with "Date" as the original rvm file. Nwc file can contain a time stamp but it depends on how the nwc is created. If you need a timestamp and the nwc file does not contain it then you have to change the way you create the nwc file or create published nwd files instead of nwc

Thank you for your posting!

To add some more to @Patrick_Aps_9121's suggestion to use Batch Utility, you will be able to utilize the log, so you can keep track of the history for appended data.

Hope this helps.

"Nwc file can contain a time stamp but it depends on how the nwc is created."

Can it be done when exporting from Revit?
