Good evening,

I've been using Naviswork to find clashes in my project. So far everytme I run clashdetection no clash is detectes as shown in the pictures I'm attaching, eventhough there's an issue with handrails and walls. Am I forgetting something? I'm using Navsworks 2016 update 3.

Thank you in advance.

Hiya, Is this a new issue you are experiencing with Navisworks 2016 Service Pack 3, or have you always had it? And would you be able to share a file that demonstrates the problem so we can investigate? Cheers, Michael

Thanks for your response,

I just migrated to Navisworks 2016 and updated it to the latest upgrade available. So I can say I'm having this issue with this version. I'm ataching the file. It's a model I made in RVT and I was finding the clashes using Navis. What really surprised me was that RVT does detect the interferences, but Navis doesn't.

Again thanks in advance.

Hiya, Thanks for the file. However, that is just the NWF file, which doesn't contain any geometry. Do you have a sample RVT file that demonstrates the same problem? Michael

Hello,

Sure. I'm attaching the RVT file. If the Navisworks file doesn't have a geometry, did I miss something when creating the file? The RVT file is too large, I'm sending a cloud link.

Thanks

Hey, OK, so I had a quick look, and that clash you indicated is being ignored because the "Items in same file" Ignore Rule is enabled (see the Rules tab). Because these two items are in the same file, they are thus ignored. Also, the tolerance is too large to find the clash. If you set the tolerance to 0.0, and disable the Ignore Rule, the clash is correctly reported. Hope this helps, Michael

Thank you sir for you assistance!

It was the Tolerance, I thought it was in milimeters. Anyways, thank you again!

Have you tried looking at the product documentation? You can find the section for Clash Detective here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/NAV/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-91685EBB-97FD-4D4C-9C4C-7144F054C2B3
