12D quant take-off

Does anyone know how to produce quantity take-off from 12D models within Navisworks? I'm interested in being able to create fast quantity schedules similar to that from a building using the quantities tab.

For instance - How can I get the thickness, volume and m2 area of a road subbase to show in Navisworks in order for me to quantify. I have been told that as 12D is not an Autodesk product, it may not be possible?

There isn't any reason that it couldn't be Quantified, it just depends on how you bring the information in. In my experience recently, a client brought in an IFC from 12D and we could get some quantities, and some we couldn't. I think it depends on what's written to the IFC from 12D. You can just do some trial and error with different file formats, but I think its never going to be 100% TBH

Thanks for the response. - Maybe I'll start doing some trial and error then. - I wonder how we can get it to be 100% each time. I'll have the answer eventually hopefully!
