ProjectionResult, Depth properties, how to interpret it?

I'm doing intensive use of View.ProjectPoint but I'm totally blur on how to use/ what's the meaning of the Depth value of the returned ProjectionResult.

I looked at values while debugging but didn't managed to got a feeling of its meaning ;-(
