Hotfix 1 for Nastran In-CAD (NIC) 2018.2.0 is now available from the below link.

If you have downloaded 2018.2 hot fix 1 ("Autodesk_Nastran_In-CAD_2018.2_HF1.exe") from the above crossed-out link, and if either of these occur,

• When the installer is run, it says "Nastran In-CAD 2018 Hotfix2"
• When you click on "About" in the Nastran In-CAD ribbon, no dialog box with details appears

 then please uninstall Nastran In-CAD (NIC) and reinstall Nastran In-CAD 2018.1 from your Autodesk account. The installer for 2018.1 should have "R1" in its file name. Nastran In-CAD can then be updated to 2018.2.0, and then updated to 2018.2 Hotfix 1 following the procedure further below.

To Update NIC 2018.2.0 (In-CAD 2018.2) to NIC 2018.2.1 (In-CAD 2018.2 Hotfix1)

If your NIC version in "About" reads 2018.2.0.427, then

1. Download the file "Autodesk_Nastran_In-CAD_2018.2_HF1.exe"
2. Run the installer.

When the installer is run, it should state "Nastran In-CAD 2018.2 Hotfix 1" in the top left of the dialog window as shown in the Fig.1.

Once applied, the NIC version in "About" in the Nastran In-CAD ribbon should read 2018.2.1.428.

To Update NIC 2018.1.0 (In-CAD 2018.1) to NIC 2018.2.0 (In-CAD 2018.2)

If your NIC version in "About" reads 2018.1.0.301, then

1. Download the file "Autodesk_NastranInCAD_2018.2_Update.msp".
2. Run the installer.

This will update NIC 2018.1 to 2018.2.0. The hotfix can then be applied to NIC 2018.2.0 as explained above.

To Update NIC 2018.0 (In-CAD 2018) to NIC 2018.1.0 (In-CAD 2018.1)

If your NIC version in "About" reads 2018.0.x.xxx and you want to update to version 2018.1, then

1. Uninstall NIC 2018.0.
2. Install 2018.1 from the Autodesk Desktop App, or with this download link (the download link expires April 1).
3. Run the installer.
4. In-CAD can then be updated to 2018.2 hot fix 1 using the steps above.

Note: 2018.0 should not be updated to 2018.1 if you are using SolidWorks. NIC 2018.1 and newer does not support SolidWorks. See the following article for more details: Important Information for SOLIDWORKS Customers using Autodesk Nastran In-CAD
