I can not create snap fit analysis in Nastran.

Hello,

I can not create snap fit analysis in Nastran.
I use Nonlinear Static analysis.
I defined surface contact, enforced load and constraint.

My analysis complated.

But parts get into each other.

And I take 30mm enforced displacement but this part move 1 or 2 mm.

But I look the displacement plot, it shown 30 mm displacement.

Where do I make mistakes?

I attached invantor file and nastran file.

You can see the result and settings.

Best regards

Orhun Ozgenc.

Hi orhun. Welcome to the Nastran In-CAD forum.

I think you need to change the displacement scale from "Percent" to "Actual". Edit the plot, then "Deform Options > Deformation Scale > Actual".

In most analyses, the displacement is so small that you would not see it visually if it were not exaggerated, so "Percent" is the default. When a 30 mm displacement is exaggerated, it looks to be 1 or 2 mm in your case. (I do not know how the percent is computed, but hypothetically it could make the 30 mm displacement look like 30 meters!)

Next, you will need to create contact between the faces that interact: "Contacts > Manual" and select one face as the "master" and the other as the "slave". The contact type would be "Separation".

That should do it!
