Hi Matthew,
Explicit Solver is not currently included with Autodesk Nastran In-CAD.
Thanks,
Andy
Is it available at all?
Are there plans for it to be included with either Nastran or Nastran In-CAD?
Matthew,
I can't tell you if this will be in the product in the future. We are working on the details now to see if this is an option for the future.
Andy
Hello,
It is a shame the explicit solver is not included, but it is worst to not know it until you try to solve tutorial 32. Maybe for the moment it would be better if you gray out the explicit type from the Analysis settings at all.

Hi Andrew,
Do you have news about the explicit solver for Nastran In-CAD? Do you know if it will be integrate in the 2017 version?
Thank you.
Tony
Hi Tony,
There is no further information on the explicit technology that was used by NEi Software. With regard to Nastran In-CAD 2017, it's Autodesk's official policy not to comment on unreleased software. Development priorities can change, so if we were to state a new feature is going to be implemenedt or a specific bug fixed, and it wasn't due to a change in priorities you would rightfully be pretty upset. If you want to get an idea of new features coming down the pipeline I recommend you sign up for the Autodesk Beta program, where you can request admission to things like the Nastran In-CAD 2017 and Inventor 2017 beta projects. Please note public discussion of products in Beta is not allowed.
Regards,
Andrew
Thank you for your answer.
I am already in. I will post a topic on Nastran In-CAD beta forum right away.
The NEi explicit nonlinear solver (aka Terragrande) has shown up as Event Simulation in Fusion 360. Currently in Preview mode.
Explicit solver is now available in Inventor Nastran 2020.1 as a tech. preview.
