CONM2s with RBE3s

Is it possible to represent a body as a CONM2 with RBE3s for connections to other elements? I have tried this but can't select the CONM2 when I try to create the RBE3.

Hi @Anonymous

Since you are speaking native Nastran, I am not sure if you are using Nastran In-CAD, or if you post was meant for the Nastran forum. Smiley Happy

If you are using In-CAD, you can add concentrated masses (CONM2 in Nastran terminology) to the interpolation rigid body (RBE3 in Nastran terminology) by using this branch in the browser: "Model > Idealizations > Concentrated Masses". Right-click on that branch and choose "New". Also see the page Concentrated Masses in the help for more details.

Thanks John, the issue has been resolved. I was having trouble creating a concentrated mass which allowed me to connect it to other components with a rigid body connector, but I realized that I just needed to create the concentrated mass directly from a component. Thank you for your help.
