Shell structures analyses

I made "Normal Modes" analyses for the structure which are shown in the figure 1 . Cone are shell structures 5mm thick. All of the stiffeners beam on the face are also made by shell structures . They are connected by bonded constrains of surface to surface.

Then shell are subjected by load such as shown in the figure 3. 

 

I am just wondering does the shell behaves such as reality? Why Stress max 262MPa effected for the small area and elsewhere it is .. Exactly how I can find stress from the elsewhere?

Hi @jussin6 

 

It looks like from figure1.jpg, that you cone has two shell layers to it. You can see the overlapping mismatch in the mesh structure. It looks like the cone wasn't midplane'd and that a shell idealization was actually applied to a volume. The shell mesh is then applied to the exterior surface, but mathmatically to the solver, it then becomes a hollow box.

 

Stress and displacement values are not actual in a normal modes analysis. They are purely for reference of the mode shape.
