Crimped insert - How do I start?

Hi,

I am inventor user (quite experienced) and I use Stress analysis and Frame analysis modules integrated in inventor a lot.

This way I deal with 99.9% of the cases I have.

Now I have a task that requires plastic analysis, and it is way out of scope for inventor FEA package.

I hope Nastran will be more capable. but have no experience in that package.

My task in hand is an insert placed in the aluminum tube 25x3 and crimped.

I need somehow to assess strength of this connection or be able to design it.

Can anyone provide general guidance on how to best approach this.

And maybe say in principle if I am able to do it in Nastran.
