VDM map stamp issue

Hello all,

I am experienceing a problem in mubox in which when I try to use a vector displacement map I made of a crater as a stamp the mesh get's stamped, but get's pushed to one side. The example below has very low buildup and strength settings. It usually get's pushed out much further. Stencil doesn't work either

Example

I don't think it is the map though, because when I sculpt another plane with the sculpt by map option, it comes out fine:

Sculpt using map

I do need to use it as a stamp so that I can place the geometry on a much larger mesh that I've already added a lot to.

Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks,

Mitchell

Are you still experiencing problems with mud ?

No, the program seems to be running fine, it's just that the VDM map won't displace without moving to the side.

What do you mean, won't displace without moving to the side, can you show screen shots ?

I have screenshots above. When I try to use the vector displacement map as a stamp or stencil, instead of displacing straight down into the crater like it should be, it gets sent down and way, way off to the side. But when I use the sculpt from map feature, it works perfectly.

Is there enough subdivisions on the mesh in which you want to use your VDM for sculpting ? Are you using a displacement map or a VDM when you sculpt using map ?
