Surface pro 6 not working with multi touch gestures.

I have a surface pro 6, the top spec one. So it has all the requirements to run your program and runs it beautifully. But for some reason Mudbox does not seem to recognise any of the multi touch functions and very few of the pen functions; which i am so eager to use. This is very annoying.... i was wondering what i am missing ?? cause i cant find anything in preferences which will help or on any forums.

I can confirm that this same problem exists on Surface Book 2.  Apparently Autodesk is working on it according to the following post:

just installed mudo 2019 and i have a surface pro 5 navigation is not working

Still no word from Autodesk on the ETA for the fix.

Mudbox relies on the middle mouse button.  Because the Surface Pen does not have a middle button, Mudbox is basically unusable without touch navigation.  I don't know why there is such a reliance on the middle mouse button.  There should be alternatives.  Ah well, a discussion for a different thread...

use Alt, Shift keys to use multitouch as you use your mouse.

MIDDLE click can be done via setting a keyboard shortcut in prefernces, me for example i did ctrl, shift and alt for middle mouse.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Using Alt plus Shift does not work for me.  I have a Surface Book 2 with Mudbox 2019.1.  I have Enable Multi-Touch Gestures checked.

Regarding navigation, I am only able to do the following:

Rotate - Press Alt plus one finger

Roll - Press Alt plus Ctrl plus one finger

That is it.  I cannot track or dolly with any combination of Alt Shift Ctrl and One, Two or Three Fingers.

Sadly, no. But if we make enough noise on here. Maybe someone with some
actual knowledge may help.

spoke with my account manager a few months ago. They know about it, they don't really seem to care. I got told it was 'on the list' no timeline.

suggested to go back to 2018, I brought up that it was pretty poor considering the subscription model and we had to go back a year to get a working version.
pretty unimpressed.

You're fighting the good fight. Drive it to them that they need to fix this Asap.

Autodesk needs to stop neglecting it's customer, especially when you launch a defective. It doesn't benefit anyone.

STILL not working as of today’s Midbox 2022 release. So disappointing- I bought a surface book 2 with this program in mind and it’s almost unusable.
