help !!! mudbox active camera error crashes file when loading

Hi can anyone help.

I'm relatively new to Mudbox and when I tried to open a file of work I have done at college onto my computer at home I keep getting an error message, ViewCube: Could not set active camera, and when I finally close the error message after numerous attempts it then shuts Mudbox down. I use the same version at college as I do at home 2017. Can anyone give me an idea how to clear this.

Thanks

James

I know this is an old thread, but did either of you guys solve this? I have just run into the same issue and would really like to be able to access my file.

Can any of you share a scene like that with us please? Or even better: know a way how to recreate this from scratch?

Thanks in advance

I have no idea how to recreate the corrupted scene from scratch, as this is literally the first project I've ever done in mudbox. I've attached the corrupt scene file.

For people with the same issue: I found that if I renamed the .bak file, my scene was totally fine, and I was able to open up the backup file with no issues.

😞 I am also having this problem!!! with more than one file.

I tried opening the .bak file as well by renaming to .mud and this just errors and closes when i open it too....

We need help on this one! 😞

I need these models I have made for my assignments that are due soon!!

Error: "ViewCube: Could not set active camera"

I also tried going to edit, then creating a camera, then it just crashes... ive sent Autodesk a large number of errors repeatedly trying to open these files and it just doesnt help... i'm so stuck! The ViewCube is definitely ticked in preferences, so its not that issue, it seems to work for some files, just specifically some of the other models I have it won't open them because of this error, and its really bugging me!!

HELP PLEASE!!

I've downloaded and checked the scene file face_model.mud, and it seems the file was not properly written to disk, the end is missing. Is it possible that your disk was full when you tried saving it? Or did anything happened during save which made the file corrupt? Do you remember any error message after saving the scene?

The error message is misleading. The file loading process is interrupted (because the file doesn't contain all the data) and Mudbox cannot find a valid active camera in the scene. But the problem is that part of the file is missing.

No there definitely wasn't any issue with enough space or not, I would of been notified not enough space. I never had an issue working on them in the past. I also have .bak versions for files and even these come up with errors.

Plus this has happened to more than one file version as I saved my old versions everytime I made a change. Now that I need to go back through them it's coming up with this whole viewcube error :(.

I need these files. I don't know what to do
