Hi guys,

i am Thomas and new with Mudbox. I have to 3D-print a thing called "Baumstriezel" in germany. The design is very rough currently because i am a beginner. I have to add small particles onto the surface but did not find the strategy. The spray function did not add small sharp particles . Does anyone of you has an idea how to add the "sugar crystals" to the surface? I attached the picture, the shot of the current mud and the current mud file.  Thank you very much Thomas

What kind of printer are you using?

If its a extruder you cant print those small details.

In any case you need mpre polygons to get the detail clean.

I would use the displace by texture feature to get the surface details.

Hello, thanks for your reply.

i will use an Ender 3 or an Ultimaker. Should work to print small details, i will  do a test in parallel.

i also will have a look to the solution you recommend and will give feedback.

Thanks for now 🙂
