Setting Quaternion Interpolation in Transformation Options

Hello Everyone,

 

I noticed MotionBuilder has a property that lets you use Quaternion interpolations, which can be found under "Transformation Options", such as follows:

quat_int.PNG

 

But whenever I am adding or retrieving keys from my rotation curves, the values are still set in Euler angles. In fact, so far I did not see what this property does. I can see that the property "QuaternionInterpolate" from "FBModelRoot" changes according to it, but that's pretty much it.

Is it just something MoBu uses internally to interpolate keys?

Got it. For anyone else having the same doubt, it is just internal interpolation.

If you have curve discontinuities, such as this one:

discontinuity.PNG

 

Then just set Quaternion interpolation to true, and forget about it. Smiley Tongue

Before I was having to apply filters to the whole thing, much better now.
