How to characterize a quadruped?

I'm trying to characterize a quadruped character, but can't seem to get the alignment of the limbs in a way that Motionbuilder is happy with for the definition of the skeleton.

I have tried to manually rotate all the limbs to they are pointing straight down, as per the tiny mention of quadruped rigs on this page: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/motionbuilder/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU...

Here is what it now looks like, with its feet pointing directly downwards:

But the Definition panel still says:

The right arm doesn't seem to be parallel to the X axis.

The left arm doesn't seem to be parallel to the X axis.

I've tried rotating them every which way, but have no idea what to do to make Motionbuilder happy!

What am I doing wrong? There's so little information/examples about how to work with quadrupeds in Motionbuilder!

Looks correct to me...Have you tried ignoring the warning to see if the character/control rig works the way you want?
