constraining a hand

I have a mocap animation where the hand moves freely where it needs. however, when the character is sitting, I want the hand to rest on the knee

and overright the animation where it moved. the spine moves, so I need to constrain it to place for a certain amount of frames, then go back to its anim that was mocap.

how would I go about this ? THANKS

You need to have IK (Wrist Effector or Auxiliary) drive the arm with the IK Blend set to 100.  Then constrain the IK effector to the knee.

Is your character definition setup and does it have a control rig?  You need to have a control rig driving your character then you set the IK blend values.

Definitely check the help docs and I’m sure there are some decent youtube videos.
