I have a design using curved circle runner. The warpage is increased a lot compared with straight half circle runner before. The part thickness is also changed into more uniform, decrese some thick part.
I wonder is it the curved runner caused the large warpage, or the runner cross area change, or the thickness change of part?
What's the advantages and disadvantages of curved runner? I don't know why the designer change into this complicated design.
Thanks inadvance.
Hi,
information are not so much.
Anyway I suppose you didn't change anything except runner desing in your studies.
Probably in the second case the pressure loss is higher in the cold runner, so the pressure on part results slightly lower and deflection increase. Morevoer if runner section is much lower freezing time results faster reducing section further.
