Hi @Anonymous,
I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Moldflow Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
I understand you are interested in obtaining some information on weld line strength in Moldflow Insight!
To properly calculate weld line strength, the polymer must be tested. The data from the test would then go into the material database, but it would not tell you much without a weld line strength analysis.
A weld line strength analysis takes into consideration the temperature history, the pressure history, and the flow front meeting angle. This is done with Helius PFA. The video below demonstrates 3D weld line strength prediction:
Within Moldflow, the weld line may be visually analyzed through a fill analysis. The temperature at flow front and the weld line result may be overlaid to get a general idea of how strong the weld lines will be due to the degree at which the two flow fronts converge, as well as the temperature. This article provides a good general overview of weld line strength as it is influenced by the temperature at which the weld line is formed and the pressure exerted on the weld until the part freezes.
If you have any further questions feel free to reach out and I would be more than happy to help!
