What should be the maximum system specifications to run the analysis in fastest time ?

We have cases , where in analysis study has elements around 20 lacs + ..

Hi @shrishailesh

if possible use HPC (linux based server)

if not,

graphics card more than 4GB (preferably NVIDIA)

RAM - 32GB min

Intel Xenon processor or i7 processor

this is should be faster... when the analysis is running try to minimize processor and RAM usage

Thanks

Hello Pradeep Kumar,

I have a 32GB RAM but it has 2x8GB and 1x16GB. Is there will be any problem?

Hello,

Thanks for replying. I have Intel Xeon E3-1230 [email protected] GHz processor, 4GB NVIDIA Quadro K2200 Graphics card and 2TB HDD. My system rating is given below :

Should I include a SSD drive for better performance? If yes, should I buy 256 or 512GB?

Hi @Sanjay_paul

If you could able to afford SSD drive, then you can go towards it and go for 512GB

performance improvement will be there only on very larger models; otherwise it may not be useful.

Hi @shrishailesh

You can check for this Work station Config from HP, Good for Moldflow heavy runs.. You can increase the Ram to 32GB if required.

Hi @Sanjay_paul

Your system config looks good nice processor, I dont think you need to buy an additional SSD..!!! Current config is more than enough for Moldflow.

Hello @Anonymous

Thanks! If I want the SSD, my company will surely buy it to me. WIll the SSD will increase my computer speed? Now sometimes my computer is slowing down while running simulation and moldflow insight shows not responding for few seconds but it didn't crash. After that it is running with no problem. My previous RAM was 16GB(8GB+8GB) then I add another 16GB but it didn't improve this problem.By mistakenly I brought one 16GB instead of two 8GB. Is this have any effect in not improving my system.?

Thank you sir !!

Currently , I have this system system_spects.png

Still it takes higher time for analysis with more than 15-20 lac  elements .

Hi @shrishailesh

Good config!!!  Analysis time will definitely be more with the study has more no.of elements especially more than 18 - 20 lacs elements, will take 5-8hrs to finish the FPW analysis with fiber orientation analysis ON. 32gb ram & 3.6GHz processor are really a good config to work faster without crash than the other config in the market.

Try launch analysis in the night if you have parts with more than 20lacs Tet elements, to avoid long wait time to view the results in daytime.
