Hello,
unfortunately I do not get my Spacemouse to run.
Is there a problem?
So far the old driver 3.18.0 has worked and the newer (10-4-7_r2465) did not.
Both tested with 2017-R2 but without success.
Best regards
Frank

Same issue here... Previous versions of Synergy work OK. Version 2017 R2 does not work with Spaceball...
Hi,
from 2017 on-line help:
Warning: There is a known issue that the latest 3D Connexion drivers are not currently compatible with the Moldflow 2016 release. Please install and use driver 3.15.2 if you are having difficulties
(yes, even if 2017 help text refers to 2016 - not sure it was tested ....)
( Then the old article about this: 3D Connexion SpaceMouse Pro is not working with Simulation Moldflow 2015 )
Added a request at Moldflow Ideas station:
3D motion controllers - time to update
Vote up if you look for an update of drives.
Regards,
Berndt
Hello Berndt,
you are right, but this is not the Problem.
My Spacemouse is still running in 2017 with the old Driver.
In 2017-R2 the Spacemouse does nothing.
Regards,
Frank
That is the same here. All previous versions of Synergy work with a Spaceball, but not the new 2017 R2
Okay, got it.
Hope Autodesk tech support will recognize this and take actions.
BTW: does it work with a more recent driver?
Regards,
Berndt
Did not try with an updated driver because I still use the previous versions of Synergy on a daily basis..
Hi @Anonymous
Even I am facing the same issue
Working with older driver version may not be correct approach.... Autodesk should allow us to work with updated driver
Hope Autodesk implement this in the next release
I have already problems with Synergy 2017 FCS regarding Spacemousefunction.
Sometimes it works - and sometimes not.
It used to be pretty reliable in 2016 (as far as I can remember).
I'll have a look at the driver specs tomorrow.
At least SimStudio works fine with it (or should I say: "Hey Moldflow GUI devs - ask your CAD collegues how things work...?)
Regards
Harald
This is my driver,
and since my PC is considered a "usual CAD station" (except my RAM maybe) - as are more than 100 other (and worlwide I'm not sure - but much more) our IT won't care to much about such details - latest driver when new - thats it.
Should I point out that any other software (including SimStudio! Spaceclaim, GOM, NX, Catia) works like a charm with it?
So I voted also for the idea.
Working without that device is for command line freaks (which I admire) only - I'm not one of them.
Best regards
Harald
Hello to all,
the autodesk support is still working on this issue.
The connection of the Spacemouse was not changed from 2017 to 2017R2.
The support could reproduce the error.
If there is a solution, I will post it here.
Greatings
Frank
Hello,
We have been investigating this issue and for some customers the following user environment variable may work for you.
MFLO_USE_CLASSIC_UI=1
Please stop Synergy or Adviser. Add the variable above as a user variable and start Synergy R2 or Adviser R2 again.
The issue is still being investigated by development.

Paul
Hi @Paul.Larter
Great... way to go
thanks for this tip
Does not work here - even after rebooting.
So as you said - "works for some users" -> not for all.
Regards
Harald
Paul,
I figured out why it didn't help on my PC.
Simple solution:
The user environment variable won't work (maybe) - depending on rights and restrictions (due to company rules etc.)
I'm not an admin on my PC and even if- I'm not working with admin rights.
Usually you can't change the user variable by yourself and an admin can't change YOUR user variable (because he/she is logged on with his/her account).
So where to put this MFLO_USE_CLASSIC_UI=1???
As an user environment variable?
Put it as System variable instead - thats valid for everybody working on that PC.
Now it works ...
Best regards
Harald
Hello Harald
Thank you for the update. That is a valid point and one development did not try on my machine.
Regards
Paul
Now after installing and working with Moldflow 2017 R3 - Spacemouse again not working?
This is not that funny.
I found:
And another page that explain "Swith to an older version of Moldflow instead" as a solution for Spacemouse not working with 2017 R3.
Is that meant serious? That a solution to a problem like that didn't find its way in the quarterly release?
Of course I voted on that idea, - but is this how quality is made?
Best regards

Hello Harald,
I also found these articles. This is just embarrassing.
I did not write anything about it, because I was so angry.
It should probably be possible to support the current driver (version 10).
All our CAD systems support the current driver.
Version 3.18.0 is over two and a half years old.
Embarrassing, embarrassing, embarrassing!!!
greetings
