mesh import problem

I want to use ANSYS 14.5 to mesh an assembly.  The mesh is generated and exported without errors (mesh setting: tetras, no element middle knots).

To use the mesh in Moldflow Synergy 2014, I export it as NASTRAN format (.nas).

When I try to import the mesh into Moldflow, I can choose the .nas-file and start the import, but after a short while the import stops with an error message: "no entities imported from CAD-file".

The complexity of the part makes no difference. It even happens with a simple test geometry (cube etc.)

I tried every combination of input options, the problem persists. How can I it?

Moldflow import log:

Did you try to import it in Ansys again? (aka "Loop Test").

2nd best option is to look into the file with an Text Editor to see what is in there.

My opinion: You maybe have exported nothing but the header of a file...

Else: Post it here (The cube one) and I or others can try to read that in.

Thank you for your quick response. A reimport of the nas-file in Ansys is working fine.

The file does not seem to be empty when opened with a text editor.

Hi Overmold,

seems you might be German as I am.

So your cube (aka Wuerfel) looks not so promising when imported into Gmesh (@home I don´t have to much comercial tools).

I often export from Gmesh to Moldflow and that works quite good. That's why I tried this here.

It doens't mean your file is corrupt or wrong or not really Nastran compatible, but it might be that way.

Maybe try to export in *.unv (Universal file format) or Patran (*.pat).
