Hello Analyst,

Did anyone tried or worked on LSDyna Moldflow Interface Simulation like we have procedure for Abaqus Moldflow Interface Simulation using structural alliance.

please do share your thoughts & advice for how to map Moldflow properties with LSDYNA file before doing the structural analysis.

Hi

AMSA is not available for MF releases after 2014.

It has been replaced by a new (but more powerful) software to make FEA coupling with MF.

But actually LS DYNA is not yet available for it.

But hope it will since LS DYNA is very used in Automotive market...like MF.

Hi,

right, Autodesk Moldflow Structural Alliance, also called AMSA is no longer supported.
And AMSA was used to map properties via a plug-in to Abaqus or Ansys (not LS-DYNA).

The script mpi2dyn might be an option:
Interface to LS-DYNA

Hi @Anonymous

right, mpi2dyn for Midplane mesh type only.

Some room for improvement here...

Not sure why LS-Dyna interface has not developed more.

Moldflow IdeaStation...

True @bernor_mf hope Moldflow IdeaStation can start looking on this development interface with LSDyna. most of the automotive crash analysis are done using LSDyna.

Hi,

I was developing a mapping api program(test version) for MF to LSDyna for 3D mesh version, but I could not finish it because of the post processing issue.

I was using LSPre-Post program for free to check the program, and I found out there was a graphic problem.
If the number of 3D mesh elements is around the million's of order, then the response gets pretty laggy and quite difficult to handle the model, which was one of the reasons to stop the development.
The cause for this slow response I think will be the format for material card of LSDyna, especially the case involving the fiber orientation.

There are still some unknown points about the way to map the results to the different type of mesh model like hexa mesh though.
