Hello,

I don’t agree with you.
I think the quality of the pictures created by Moldflow is good (I hope it’ll last.)
Look at the comparison I made.

It shows the same picture, enlarged 2 times, saved in Jpeg and Gif with Moldflow, Windows capture tool * and the software IrfanView. (*is it what you mean by “snip tool”?)

Pictures quality comparison.bmp.png

You can see the results got with Moldflow are not so bad.
Personally, I prefer the Gif format because it gives sharper colors and writings.
IrfanView works well enough.
Your picture is strange. I never saw that, edges missing.

I hope this reply will help you.

Hi Petr,

Thanks for the reply,

I do agree for your above comparison images results for filling shades,

can you check and post fill contour for the midplane meshes?

Thanks,

Muthuraja

So, this is a comparison of the filling contours displayed for a Midplane model.

Pictures quality comparison 3.png

My conclusions remain the same:

  • Windows Capture works bad above all for GIF
  • The pictures quality of Moldflow and IrfanView is good
  • GIF images are sharper than JPG.

I made several tests to try to reproduce the defect you have.

I did not succeed.

But, now I think I had this problem a long time ago.

Which version of Moldflow do you use?

Is your graphics card driver updated?

Hi,
if using Nvidia graphics card, it many times improve performance by changing
Global Presets to “3D App – Visual Simulation”
First, update graphics driver.

Those topics are for different reason, but shows how to do this setting,

Global Presets to “3D App – Visual Simulation”:

Moldflow scale or legend bar missing when displaying results
Moldflow: Bounding box not visible when using select tools

It could also be so, that you maybe need to change opacity.
In the Plot properties, tab Mesh Display, Surface display, below Transparent, you can change Opacity.

Would try updating graphics driver, and set Global Presets to “3D App – Visual Simulation” first.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Berndt

Hello team,
@bernor_mf  & @juan.zamora.ruiz
After examining the specific results and capturing the image in the macro, what steps should I take next?

Hi @Ashwatthaman ,

Could you elaborate your query? I'm afraid I don't have a clear understanding on the context of your question.

I recommend you raise a new thread though, so we have a self-contained thread for your query and keep this thread for the original topic.

Regards,

Juan

Hello simulators,

I'm surprise to see this post again...  🙂

In 2019, I wrote "I think the quality of the pictures created by Moldflow is good (I hope it’ll last.)"

Maybe you won't agree with me but...

now I think... unfortunately... it didn't last...  😞

The current compression algorithm degrades the pictures quality more than before.

And also, the grey used now to display the part is darker.

Look at this comparison between Moldflow and IrfanView:
