Failing Sink Mark capturing

Hello All,

Currently, I'm working on one geometry which has T section (doesn't have exact 90 degree angle) refer attached image.

I tried DD and 3D mesh to capture sink mark but software is showing zero values.

Please let me know how I get to know sink mark this case for DD/3D mesh??

Note: Rib thickness is same as part thickness.

Hi @mahesh_a_patil ,

difficult to give a clear cut answer to this.

Some comments though.

Rib thickness same as part wall thickness.
Looking at the picture, the rib has a larger radius on one side, and sharper on other side.

And angled to main surface.

Could be difficult for sink mark algorithm to catch this

Sink marks not captured in Moldflow when rib thickness/height is similar to part nominal wall thickn...
"When the thickness of the rib is very similar to the nominal wall thickness/height of the part, the aspect ratio of the rib to part thickness does not trigger a sink mark calculation.
The underlying algorithm is having trouble identifying the appropriate cross section in this scenario, and a sink mark calculation is not performed. "

How is the mesh matching from rib to main surface?

Maybe an imprint could help?
Note: Imprint is only available for Dual Domain mesh types.
To use the Imprint tool

Berndt
