Hello

About exporting the warpped model, we have 2 States in moldflow that each of them dividing to 4 Items:

  • Importing the CAD model directly to moldflow without and expanding scale (Shrinkage compensation scale)

a-actual, shrinkage compensation off

b- opposite, shrinkage compensation off

c- actual, shrinkage compensation on

d- b- opposite, shrinkage compensation on

2-importing the CAD model to moldflow that is scaled previously (Shrinkage compensation scale)with CAD software or in moldflow before running analysis and after analysis in warpage results :

e-actual, shrinkage compensation off

f- opposite, shrinkage compensation off

g- actual, shrinkage compensation on

h- opposite, shrinkage compensation on

My questions are :

1-for comparing the CAD model and output of the mold (molded part) (Cad model and warpped shape),

should I use 1-C  ? and with scale  factor should be 1 ?

2-For windage, what’s the procedure for doing that?

And which of above items should be used for morphing CAD model?  and what about the scale

    factor?

The Video : “ASK THE MOLDFLOW EXPERTS - Windage From a Tooling Perspective”

       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTaVzn_Yt9M

in minute : 04’:28” , Step 6 :perform windage check

Where can I do that ? could it be done in moldflow or CAD software? and how?

3-could you explain more about other items?

 Best Regards

Hello @n.soheylnokhaie ,

Tim VanAst from Autodesk presented on this topic during the 2023 Moldflow Summit.  You can sign up to watch the recording here:

https://www.autodesk.com/campaigns/advmfg-summit/overview

Your selection depends on the CAD used as an input to Moldflow (Tool CAD or Part CAD) and what you want to do with the warpage export.
