Hi ,

 

 

For a Midplane -Two cavity part (LH & RH) reflected  part with cooling channel (core & cavity cooling ) i am getting connectivity region 4 , which is weird,

i have checked every parameter for mesh quality, cooling quality, feed system , every thing is perfect  with single region . mesh orientation as well as overlapping intersection (none observed) are as as per moldflow  criteria.

 

Version used and checked  Moldflow 2016 & 2017 .

i have  two cooling layout (straight line cooling ) core and cavity with 5 inlets and feed connected with part so practically i should get 3 connectivity regions.

 

so can you help me with this ,

 Hi ji ,

 

For checking duplicate elements and short length in feed system and cooling channel we use beam elements to find , but for overall i use triangle to find mesh statistics.

If triangle element is used, then it should have connectivity as 1

For only cooling channels it shows 11 connectivity regions ( Total of 5 inlet in both core cooling and cavity cooling ) straight line cooling

Hi Arvind,
read the thread and strange things you experience.

 

1) If you roll back to original LH + cooling circuit does connectivity look ok?

 

2) Just for the troubleshooting: export the LH+RH to patran format, re-import the patran file.
What does connectivity looks like?

 

3) Contact Autodesk technical support...


I think I have seen something similar to this on Midplane mesh in some releases back, but memory is a bit weak here...
Could not find any article on the issue, so might be before article publishing started.

Hi

 

Beams connectivity regions, what you are getting is correct (11 regions)

 

This includes 5 core side cooling + 5 cavity side cooling + 1 feed system = 11 regions

 

you need to cross check the meshed model

 

if possible share the FE model to me

yes Actually 11 regions is correct including beam , there is some problem in mesh .

Hi ,

 

After  exporting mesh to patran file ,still same connectivity problem exist but yes now i can find that there are some 3 Different Part_Surface (mid plane).

So now i can find on which area mesh needs to be improved
