I am going to be using MoldFlow as a major portion of my MASc thesis/project. I was wondering what the real difference between MoldFlow Advisor and MoldFlow Insight were? I have searched around online and it seems that Insight simply has more capabilites than Advisor.

I will be working on injection molded thermolpastics, and looking at taking temperature and pressure profiles from MoldFlow to use in another software. It seems that Advisor can handle just that but if I want to vary processing conditions, such as the mold material, than I would need Insight.

I am still waiting on a quote for the various levels of either software, but is Insight a big upgrade from Advisor when looking to do injeciton moulding simulation? I would also love to know what is meant by the interoperability between Insight and Abaqus?

Hi,
A way to distinguish Moldflow Adviser and Moldflow Insight is Adviser is for generalist and Insight is for specialist.
The more details you need in terms of setting up process or work with results Insight to be used.
This is a good site to compare:
https://www.autodesk.com/compare/compare-features/moldflow

When using Insight you need both the user interface Synergy, and the solver Insight.
In Synergy you work with pre-processing such as meshing the model.
Further, if you need to export result to read in other system I believe Insight is needed.

There is a free trial of Adviser.

Maybe give it a try to see if it resolves the task before you decide?

Hope this helps.
