For the side constraints usually it's difficult they are exactly in x-y-z directions.
To let this feature to be useful it should be an option of "along normal".
In this way the software automatically calculate the normal to the node (maybe based on the mean normal to triangles touching elements).
The same "along normal" could be helpful for the deflection result. There could be a "Deflection along normal".
In this way you can directly see if the part goes over or under the original shape just plotting the deflection component "along normal" to surface
