Hello again!
I was wondering if someone could help me understand why my temperature at flow front seems to be increasing then. decreasing in some areas. The following is an image of the results of a fill analysis I made.
Thanks again!
Hi Paulina,
first, this is small temperature variations in flow front temperature, <2C ,
General recommended interval is 2-5C - but many times hard to accomplish on real parts.
Assuming a constant flow rate of melt.
The flow front temperature is 229.9C in runner.
The temperature increase after gate, due to shear heating in gate.
Then the cross section then becomes more narrow, the flow velocity increase, higher shear, hence some shear heating and temperature goes up.
After the cross section becomes wider, and flow velocity reduces, hence temperature drops.
Basically there should be a balance of shear heating and heat transfer and dissipation to mold.
The on-line help of could help the understanding:
From Quality Prediction:
Temperature at flow front is too high
Temperature at flow front is too low
And:
Temperature at flow front result
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Berndt
